Vehicle author checking

#1
Hello,

For a long time now achievements have been on the cards. Even simple stuff like "fire a laser guided missile".

The problem is the player would be able to accomplish most of these achievements by just spawning in half a faction fleet in designer (or campaign) and battling with them.

What I am proposing is that a vehicle takes some author info when it is first placed (that single wooden cube). Same with sub objects.

This author info would simply mean that you can only accomplish an achievement if the vehicle doing the action is "yours". It'd be linked to the FTD profile, not a steam profile.

One of the (potentially many) problems with this, but perhaps the biggest one, is that any design made to date in FTD, as well as sub objects, would not have author info. As there is unauthored stuff on the workshop, forums, discord, and your hard drives I cannot simply say that the first person to load it is the author.

What I am proposing is that from now on the author info is saved. Previous stuff will be excluded from achievements.

To be clear I don't expect these achievements to be very hard they will just hopefully encourage newbies to try a few things. Stuff like "winning the campaign" will not require author info... but stuff like "build vehicle that does 60m/s on land" (for example) would.

P.S. the player ID in the author info, and the authoring info in the vehicle blueprints would be encrypted so that it would not be trivial to tamper with either to pretend a vehicle is yours.
P.P.S the author info is not personal info it's just a randomly generated GUID that is unique to you.

So the question to you guys is

1) Would you like to have blueprints stamped with your authoring info, for the primary purpose of achievements (but also a sense of ownership), and potentially having some other usages down the line
2) or, would you prefer that this doesn't happen and achievements are not made.
3) Would you prefer that achievements are made but faction / workshop / hybrid vehicles can complete them.
4) or would you like to see authoring added, but don't want achievement.
(use the poll).

I'd appreciate your thoughts on this as well, in "reply" form.

Some other uses I can think of:
In story missions (once they are revamped) giving bonuses if the vehicle used to complete the mission is a rework of the one provided to you, rather than a totally different vehicle.
OK that's it.
