How to use Chaff?

#1
Do you just place chaff blocks on your vehicle and have a munition detector + material?

Is it suppose to have a visual aspect associated to its activity?

Really not sure if my chaff block is working or not.

Thanks

Mid mouse button -> hit eye icon on the right top of the screen to show view of detection -> Select radar icon to view radar detection -> Move mouse cursor to on your ship.
Then you can know radar detection range of your ship.
If chaff emitters were working radar detection range decreases.
Chaff emitters always waste materials. You need to use ACB if you want to activate only when hostile missiles were detected.

Thanks for the response, the ACBs dont have an active option, just a set material usage value. I guess that's the same difference in the case of chaff since from the sound of it they are always active.

Cannot you set material usage zero?

Quick solution with 2 ACBs would be:

If enemy (or missile) is within XX meters -> set resource usage to max.
If no enemy (or missile) is within XX meters -> set resource usage to zero.

Ya, that's what I gathered from the response.

Thanks
