That mod walked in a child's shoes when I saw it.
I don't know if that's working yet?
It was not by chance they've began to work on this mod - anyone who played the 1st part (supreme Commander + Forged Alliance) were outraged on part 2.

Short recap what got cut away from the blasphemical 2nd part:
-continual resources (you have incoming and spent energy and metal, and storage from them, so you could have deficit for a time)
-huge maps
-prefabbed saveable bases
-dynamic diplomacy between players
-experimental units were actually a threat
-bases were actually useful, and you could set up your units so they couldn't be pulled
-units on factions were all actually different, and each faction had main drawbacks and positives
-the story was actually good
-huge amounts of units (really was just limited by your computer)

For reference we played it together for 1.5 years, meanwhile forming a modpack for it.

Supcom 1 and Forged alliance are masterpieces of Real Time Strategy games. ¨
In some ways, Supcom is way better than Starcraft or the Command And Conquer. Mainly in the grand strategy part, the massive unit counts, less keyboard breaking gameplay....

Indeed so.

When you set patrol to a group of builders and they auto-collect resources, repair damaged units, and help to make other units if they have the time.

When you don't use single unit types, but handle a carefully put together group as one, thru infinite waypoints and commands.

I remember in Starcraft a defensive unit line either could be pulled by quick units, or if they got stand ground command outranged and destroyed.

Also SCFA has unified game and minimap together by the simple change of zooming in/out where the cursor is.

That was my favourite strategy game before Depths. :3
