With a 10Hz LWC that's 3.6 GPP, a 4 block engine + 1 block fuel for 6 minutes(20-40Hz is only really useful for lasers, cannons are fkd by prediction).

The worst case is the cannon ASF, with a generous 10 Hz it's 5 extra blocks/~150 materials for great detection if GPP costs 50 fuel.
Missiles/remote detections are practically free.

You missed the 360 tracker you need if autodetection is off. You can't balance around the game always giving you basic detection, because there's different levels of that. I gave an example of basic detection with single redundancy - which isn't really even enough - and how much it takes, and again it needs 4 cards for full processing - technically 3.5 cards - and I also told you exactly how much of the tank's engine that takes, so no I really am not overestimating how much 50 power is. There are other considerations than "how much engine can I cram in here & screw efficiency" for life outside tournaments.

For reference: cam 360, cam 90, laser rangefinder, radar 90 backup, IVT which I don't think needs processing power. I could use a radar 360, accept that any EMP hit is going to wipe it away & use the now redundant card for LWC processing, but that doesn't reduce the fact it's using 1/4 of the - not small by tank standards - engine. If this change was enforced as is in the default game, I'd just make mainframes maybe placeable on turrets if I felt it was too awkward to keep everything hull-mounted ( more of a consideration for tanks when half their volume is turret ) & start replacing AI connector blocks with them.

Incidentally did someone give the reworked LAMS a good test vs high-HP CRAM?
