Oh so Nick added a mode that allows you to test damage without being blown to bits? very nice. I'll have to give that a whirl.
In the mean time, My last array testing has yielded some impressive results.
4 Combiners in this array. This is under full load. Basically this would destroy any block aside from a metal beam on first contact.

How does one 'turn off' the damage potential under fire' option? I don't see how and clicking it doesn't do anything.
