Have had a look at it now.
Wow it moves fast. Hell, it practically hovers above the water.
Ticks all the boxes for OWC designs. Insane active defenses (lv10 shielding and flares all over the place) and pretty much guaranteed to disintegrate if they're bypassed. Pilot in a sealed room. Minimal contact with water. Missile spam.

Only issues seem to be one of the ACBs controlling the flares isn't working.

All in all, it's pretty much perfect. I'll integrate it as the Scalpel once I've done some tweaking and painting.

Heads-up: I'm going to be going over the first post of this thread so that people starting from the beginning can see what sort of stage the campaign's at. This may make any replies to that post seem insane, so fair warning.

Alright, update time! Finally I've built something for the campaign again.

It's a hovermine.
Yes, it's small, but I wanted to have something like this for the OWC. Inspired by afjklol's CAPTOR mine, but much less effective against submarines.
Cheap-ish, disposable, and uses no resources in operation.

Which is why the Hovermine Supplier is needed.

Its sole purpose is to supply the four hovermines it carries as subspawns with ammo.
With four or more suppliers you can make a pretty decent hoverminefield.

Hypersycos, here's a pic of the Scalpel hovercraft in OWC colours:

I'll be honest, it probably does need some laser defences. I can always add them later though. It's integrated though, and that's the important part (may also show up in high-speed assault fleets).

Gaurdian, I finally decided to integrate the Air Cobra as the Dirk, since it's a nice and distinct knife-related name.

I added laser shields, :D

You'll have to repaint though.

Any decently strong laser ship will cut through the shields fairly easily (tested against the LH Ohm, 1.2mil laser craft, melted through the shields in less than 5secs), but when matched with equal RP they survived.

Those look nice lol, good to hear that it'll be in the campaign. Also I noticed the lore you have up there and I must say: I'm going to absolutely love designing for The Forged Embers, I have a crush on dreadnought style ships haha. Also I'm gonna give my best to design something for the Reefback Wreckers (I will also be working on the armed scout balloon then as well, I promise that they won't be too powerful Tongue), they're style actually currently describes what I build for the initial battles against the DWG (relatively cheap, not too aesthetically appeasing and all around surprisingly tough) (fair warning, anything I make will look something like the Debris, may I have that BP btw? Not only do I want to upgrade it (Advanced Cannons firing nothing bigger than 179mm rounds and maybe primitive missiles or torps (since they want to capture the ship) with a kick of harpoons?) but I also really like that design lol, I think it's actually my favorite that I've seen so far).

I was going to fit smoke systems, but I suppose laser shielding also works. (I've never used laser shields before FYI, so I'm not really sure how effective they are)

Probably gonna add smoke anyway, for when the shields do go down.

The Forged Embers will be using primarily heavily armoured ironclads/monitors with minimal stuff above the water and pre-dreadnought style armoured cruisers. I haven't really figured out the fine detail of their designs - hopefully when we get fire it'll be effective enough against armour to justify putting it on Ember ships.

For the Reefback Wreckers, shape-wise anything goes, as long as it loses to the Corensian Monarchy ship of similar size and has very little below the water (hence the fanboats). Shields at max strength 2, and only in critical locations, only explosive for crams, dunno about advanced cannons as long as they don't pulverise everything. There's two corporations manufacturing for the Wreckers - Jury Rig Salvage and Lee Quay Shipyards. Jury Rig ships should really look like they've been thrown together from wreckage with wildly varying quality (Sooner or later I'll make a Patchwork-like ship for them), but Lee Quay has higher standards. The more beat-up a Wrecker design looks, the better, but don't sacrifice functionality too much.
The Wreckers have access to reasonably useful IR missiles, not just primitive ones - the Old World Coalition has lost several ships in Wrecker territory. (That said, the Raincloud MK1 thrusterfoil is now a Wrecker craft) Hopefully the AI will be able to arc or lead missiles to hit moving targets sometime in the future, so primitive missiles/torps can actually be useful.

BP for Debris is attached, as well as the Skimmer MK2, which has severely lacking torpedoes which will probably be useful as a secondary weapon system. That said though, the Wreckers could definitely use more small designs, patrol boats and the like.

On a side note, I'm looking to replace the Flying Dutchman (will probably be renamed the Flying Corensian).
Basically a wooden sailing ship with strength 2 to 4 reflect shields covering most of it and the sails replaced with a big, ugly dediblade system. Should have a weak cram broadside and a weak frontal cram turret with low velocity.

Edit: The Wreckers could probably use a couple of retrofitted cargo ships as well.

In the last bp I sent the main turret had a battery phasing through it, stopping it from turning. Here's an updated BP if you want. Also, I opted for laser shields because I'm not very good at using smoke, smoke is more effective, more reliable, and probably cheaper too, so if you can use it it's probably better.

Also, I remembered about a ship I made for the DWG a while ago(didn't get in, there was a better replacement), and thought it might fit in with the wreckers, dunno tho. Already painted, but probably won't look good in the different colour scheme.

Ooh, I'll have a look at that.

Also, I've made a fairly important decision: LUA missiles WILL be allowed for OWC designs, provided that they don't use thumper heads.

Alright, I've painted that one and replaced the current Scalpel with it. I'll add smoke at a later date.

Had a look at that one. Nice design, armoured it up a bit, added some weak shielding and a flare. Will be integrated once named.
